About

“Saints are simply men & women who have fulfilled their natural obligation, which is to approach God.”
-Evelyn Waugh

Welcome to Simply Fulfilled, a blog about the challenges I’m facing as a married Christian mother in a growing secular world. Although I always try my best to be “simply fulfilled” with what God has given me, I have many days when I’m not as grateful as I should be.

I’m Bryn, a wife and mother, still living in the town where I grew up in the Midwest US. My husband Tyler and I have eight children ages 15 and under (yes, they’re all ours; yes, we meant to have them all; yes, my hands are full; yes, I’m glad it’s me not you too), so my life is loud and crazy most of the time. I love my husband more than I ever thought I could love another person.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and work on projects (during naptime) as a freelance web and graphic designer.

I’m a Catholic and I love Jesus.

I strive every day to be a person of character, to be an authentic person, as God intended each of us to be. This blog is about the everyday challenges of becoming the person He wants me to be.

So what does “Simply Fulfilled” even mean? It is my goal for my life. This culture is constantly pulling everyone to do MORE – make more money, have more stuff, go on bigger vacations, get the latest fancy cell phone, etc. But is that what life is really all about? Do all those “things” really fulfill me?

My goal is to let what is really important in my life fulfill me – the simple things – my relationship with my husband, the laughter of my children, and the love and mercy I feel every day from Jesus Christ.

The ultimate goal for my life is to become a saint (that is, to get to heaven) and bring as many people with me as possible. My life is always, always a work-in-progress, and I’m a hot mess much of the time. I just need to simply fulfill my natural obligation – to approach God.
